YS Vijayamma, mother of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Sharmila, has issued a stern warning to those allegedly using her family’s personal matters for political advantage. Addressing recent controversies, Vijayamma voiced her concern over false information circulating online, including a social media campaign falsely suggesting that Jagan had attempted to harm her. She condemned the resurfacing of an old video to support these claims, calling it misleading and unethical.
In a heartfelt appeal, Vijayamma also denounced attempts by some groups to cast doubt on Sharmila’s lineage, with baseless allegations that she is not the daughter of YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) and herself. She described these attacks as character assassination aimed at damaging Jagan’s reputation for political gain, calling it “deeply saddening” to see such tactics employed against her family.
While acknowledging that differences of opinion may exist within the family, Vijayamma emphasized that they remain united. She reaffirmed that Jagan is indeed the son of the late YSR, a respected leader, and warned political parties against spreading baseless rumors, particularly those related to a recent open letter she wrote. Vijayamma clarified that her letter addressed only family matters and criticized those manipulating it to target Jagan and Sharmila.
