Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government, accusing it of betrayal, corruption, and failure to fulfill promises. Addressing party representatives from the united Guntur district, Jagan highlighted his administration’s ₹2.71 lakh crore direct benefit transfers and criticized the ruling alliance for dismantling welfare schemes that benefited the common people.
Jagan accused Naidu of misleading voters with false assurances and failing to deliver on key sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture. He pointed out that YSRCP retained 40% of the vote share despite a 10% decline, attributing the temporary setback to his refusal to make false promises like the TDP. Confident of a political resurgence, he assured his supporters that he remains deeply connected with the people and will continue in politics for another 25-30 years.
He criticized the ruling government for its involvement in multiple scams, including sand and liquor scandals, and alleged that corruption has become rampant under Naidu’s leadership. Bribes have become necessary for even basic services, and those questioning the government are being targeted with legal harassment. He warned that such injustices will not last and that the people will soon see through the deception and hold the ruling coalition accountable.
Jagan accused the TDP of manipulating the recent local body elections using threats and inducements, arguing that Naidu’s party lacks genuine public support. He reminded everyone that during his tenure, TDP had won only two municipalities, and if YSRCP had used similar tactics, even those victories would not have been possible. He reaffirmed that YSRCP believes in democracy and respects electoral outcomes, unlike TDP, which resorts to unethical practices.
He took a dig at Chandrababu Naidu’s campaign slogans, mocking the claim of being a “guarantee for the future” and calling him a “guarantee for fraud.” He stated that TDP leaders are now afraid to enter villages because they have failed to keep their promises. He accused Naidu of betraying public trust by discarding the manifesto and weakening governance structures.
Jagan assured his party workers that the current situation is temporary and that YSRCP will return to power with a stronger mandate. He promised that no wrongdoers would be spared, and legal action would be taken against those involved in corruption. Acknowledging that the COVID-19 pandemic restricted his ability to support party workers fully during his tenure, he pledged to stand firmly by them in the future.
He also cautioned that the ruling party will try to place its people in key local body positions through pressure and false cases, urging his cadre to stay strong and united. He criticized the ruling government for making a mockery of democracy, stating that people would soon deliver a strong verdict against them.
Ending on a confident note, Jagan assured his supporters that YSRCP is fully prepared for a comeback and will continue to work for the welfare of the people. He reiterated his commitment to justice and governance, promising that once YSRCP is back in power, the party will correct the wrongs done by the current government and restore faith in democratic governance.
