“We will ensure that justice is done when we return to power,” – Ys Jagan
After visiting the family of Sahana, who tragically lost her life following treatment at the Guntur Government Hospital, former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy sharply criticized the state government and the TDP. He accused the ruling party of shielding the accused in multiple rape and abuse cases, particularly pointing to TDP’s alleged involvement.
Jagan highlighted the alarming state of women’s safety, especially focusing on the case of Naveen, a man allegedly connected to a local MP, involved in the assault of a Dalit woman. He condemned the government’s failure to act, emphasizing that despite clear evidence, the administration has attempted to cover up the crimes.
“When girls are being raped in the state, the responsible home minister has not responded. The perpetrator is their own man, so they are trying to protect him. The name of the perpetrator is Naveen. Indeed, Chandrababu is wearing a TDP scarf. The accused went around with the local MP. He is very close to him. They are trying to cover up the mistake. This government is spreading false propaganda that no mistake has been made,” Jagan stated.
He contrasted the current situation with his tenure, highlighting the success of the Disha App, which protected women, and criticized the current government for scrapping it. He demanded that the government apologize, compensate the victims, and ensure justice.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy condemned the rise in crimes against women under Chandrababu Naidu’s government, citing 77 incidents in just four and a half months, with five victims committing suicide and seven losing their lives.
He accused the TDP of failing to protect citizens, calling it a tragic reflection of the current regime.
