A case has been filed against actor Posani Krishnamurali, ad film director Ram Gopal Varma, and others at the One Town police station in Visakhapatnam, with many across the state viewing it as political retaliation. The case stems from a complaint by former MLA Gandi Babuji, accusing former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Lokesh, ETV’s Ramoji Rao, and TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu of making obscene comments.
With multiple cases being filed against individuals for social media posts and public statements during the current government’s tenure, public anger is on the rise. While YSRCP leaders and their families are subjected to personal insults on social media, concerns are growing over the lack of action against TDP leaders.
The public is questioning why the government has not acted on incidents such as the misuse of letters written by Jagan’s mother, Vijayamma, on social media, false comments about Sharmila, and the obscene remarks made by TDP leader ‘KIRAK RP’ about RK Roja. Many feel that the selective action against political leaders, while YSRCP leaders are left unprotected, signals governmental inefficiency.
The public is specifically questioning: “If social media misuse is wrong, why isn’t it considered wrong when TDP members engage in similar actions?”
Experts suggest that these incidents are increasing security concerns and contributing to unrest among the public.
