The TDP-JSP alliance just got a huge reality check in the North Andhra Teachers’ MLC election. Despite the fact that YSRCP—the main opposition—didn’t even contest, they still lost. That says a lot! Teachers are fed up, and this result proves just how frustrated they are. Gade Srinivasulu Naidu from PRTU (Progressive Recognised Teachers Union) easily defeated the sitting MLC, Pakalapati Raghu Varma, who was backed by the NDA. This wasn’t just a defeat—it was a clear warning.
Broken Promises, Broken Trust
The government made big promises but didn’t deliver, and teachers had enough. Here’s why they turned against TDP-JSP:
Surrendered Leaves: Teachers weren’t paid for their surrendered leaves, which felt like a straight-up betrayal.
CFMS Pending Bills: Government delays in clearing bills left many teachers struggling financially.
DA Pending: The government still hasn’t paid their Dearness Allowance (DA), even though prices are going up.
PRC Delay: The Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations are still not fully implemented, leaving teachers with stagnant salaries.
Teachers weren’t asking for luxuries—just what was promised to them. But instead of fixing these problems, the government ignored them, and now they’re paying the price.
Politics Over Governance
Instead of solving real issues, the government was too busy playing politics. Instead of focusing on schools and teachers, they were targeting critics and arresting people for speaking out. Over 680 social media users got legal notices, and 49 people were arrested just for criticizing the government! This kind of crackdown only made people angrier. Teachers wanted solutions, not political drama.
What This Means for the Government
The message is loud and clear: people won’t tolerate false promises anymore. If the government doesn’t act fast—by clearing pending payments, fixing PRC issues, and focusing on actual governance—things will only get worse for them. The North Andhra Teachers’ MLC election was just the beginning. If they don’t wake up now, the future elections might be even worse. It’s time to perform or perish.
