
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday for his first visit to Andhra Pradesh after assuming office for the third consecutive term in 2024. Accompanied by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, PM Modi participated in a roadshow and laid the foundation for several major projects.
Among the highlights, Modi inaugurated the railway zone in Visakhapatnam and laid the foundation for NTPC’s Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district. The hub, a joint initiative between NTPC Green Energy Limited and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), spans 1,200 acres near Gangavaram Seaport. It aims to produce green ammonia, green methanol, and urea, with an investment of ₹1.85 lakh crore and an expected 57,000 jobs by 2032.
Welcoming the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Naidu called the event a significant step forward for Andhra Pradesh’s development. The projects are expected to boost the local and national economies, marking a milestone in India’s green energy transition.
