Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan officially launched the “Palle Panduga” (Village Festival) in Krishna district, aimed at boosting rural development across the state. The initiative will focus on improving infrastructure in 13,326 villages, with projects primarily involving road construction and water conservation. These works will be executed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

In a major move to address long-pending development issues, the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated ₹4,500 crore for the completion of 30,000 pending projects. The festival will run from October 15 to January 14, 2024, featuring community activities to engage local residents, promote rural heritage, and showcase the government’s commitment to village development.
During the event, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan highlighted the importance of rural progress, stating, “Villages are the backbone of our state. This program is the first step toward eradicating poverty in villages by generating income for local residents.” He also emphasized that the initiative would strengthen village infrastructure and improve living conditions for rural communities.
The launch event was attended by Minister for Excise and Mines and Geology Kollu Ravindra, Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry, and MLAs Bode Prasad, Varla Kumar Raja, Kagitha Krishna Prasad, and Venigandla Ramu.
