Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan emphasized the significance of the Green Co project in Andhra Pradesh, stating that an investment of ₹30,000 crore has been made in the state, with additional investments underway. Nationally, ₹1 lakh crore has been invested in the project so far.
Speaking during his visit to the Green Co project site in Kurnool on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan highlighted that the initiative, launched in 2021, has directly created 10,000 jobs and indirectly benefited 40,000 people. He expressed confidence that the project, which generates power using wind, water, and solar energy, is among the largest of its kind globally and has the potential to become a significant tourist attraction in the future.
The Deputy CM acknowledged a land dispute involving 45 hectares between the Revenue and Forest departments and assured efforts to resolve the issue. “Sitting in an office is different from seeing things on the ground,” he remarked, justifying his visit to personally assess the situation.
Pawan Kalyan commended the focus on green energy, spearheaded by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, following the success in the IT sector. He noted that the project utilizes unproductive agricultural lands to advance renewable energy goals, contributing to one-third of Andhra Pradesh’s electricity needs.
He further revealed that ₹12,000 crore has been spent on the project so far, with plans to invest an additional ₹10,000 crore. The Deputy CM also assured that any issues concerning the project would be brought to the Centre’s attention to ensure swift resolution.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan discussed plans for a special drive to assess government land encroachments in Kadapa, Kurnool, and Chittoor districts. He stated that the drive would help identify the extent of encroachments and the availability of unutilized land, promising to personally oversee the process.
