Just two days after an incident where a government school teacher in Venkataapuram village, East Godavari district, made students wash his car, another shocking case has emerged. In Sri Chaitanya School, Chakapalli, Eluru district, an LKG student lost consciousness after being brutally beaten by a teacher.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Nara Lokesh seems to have neglected his responsibilities, focusing instead on political vendettas through the so-called “Red Book.” Critics argue that due to his inaction, the state’s education system has completely collapsed.
Adding to the controversy, the “No Bag Saturday” initiative, which was scrapped by the NDA government upon assuming power, has now been reintroduced. However, reports suggest that students in some government schools are being forced into manual labor under this program, raising serious concerns. Minister Nara Lokesh and the government have failed to provide a proper response to these allegations.
Furthermore, several reforms introduced under the previous government’s “Nadu-Nedu” program to improve government schools for underprivileged students have been systematically dismantled. It is alleged that Lokesh is working in favor of corporate education barons like Narayana, prioritizing their interests over public education. His actions appear to be part of a broader strategy to commercialize education for political and financial gains.
On top of this, the NDA government has failed to clear fee reimbursement dues amounting to ₹3,900 crore, directly affecting 12 lakh students across the state. This delay has put their future at risk, further deepening the crisis in Andhra Pradesh’s education sector.
