In Nellore district, a protocol lapse at the District Development Committee review meeting led to MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy walking out in protest. Although MP Vemireddy attended the welcome event alongside key officials, only the ministers received ceremonial bouquets, a gesture usually extended to all dignitaries. Offended by the oversight, MP Vemireddy exited the platform, prompting an apology from State Revenue Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, who criticized the officials’ conduct.
Following the incident, Minister Anam issued strict instructions to the district collector to prevent similar errors in the future. He further emphasized the coalition’s focus on public welfare initiatives, especially in upcoming water union elections, and reinforced the commitment to TDP, BJP, and Janasena party coordination. Additionally, Minister Anam highlighted his concerns over delayed irrigation projects in Nellore, specifically addressing the need for urgent action on stalled channel works.
Following the incident, MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, accompanied by his wife Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy, met with CM Chandrababu Naidu on November 4 to express gratitude for Prashanti Reddy’s inclusion in the TTD Governing Body. While the meeting appeared informal, TDP sources indicate that CM Chandrababu Naidu aimed to pacify Vemireddy, assuring the couple that such oversights would not be repeated.
