Hyderabad: The Ranga Reddy police are preparing to petition the court to revoke the interim bail granted to choreographer Jani Master, who is facing serious allegations of rape. This action comes in light of the recent suspension of his national award.
Jani Master had been granted interim bail from October 6 to October 9 to attend the National Best Choreographer Award ceremony, where he is set to receive recognition for his work in 2022 at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi on October 8. However, following a complaint lodged by an assistant choreographer at the Narsinghi police station, authorities are now pursuing further action against him, citing allegations of repeated rape.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act was registered, leading to his arrest and subsequent remand. In response to the severity of the allegations, the National Film Award Cell announced the suspension of his award and revoked his invitation to the ceremony.
As the legal proceedings unfold, police are emphasizing the necessity of revoking his bail due to the gravity of the charges he faces.
