Heavy rainfall has been reported across Prakasham, Nellore, and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh as well as in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpet districts in Tamil Nadu, due to a depression over the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, warning of potential flooding and landslides. Rainfall accumulation may exceed 200 mm in some areas, prompting local authorities to remain on high alert and manage the situation effectively. Residents are advised to stay vigilant during this weather event.
