A new controversy has emerged in Andhra Pradesh following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state. Criticism has been mounting regarding the misuse of public funds in government advertisements. The issue centers around the inclusion of Nara Lokesh’s photograph in the advertisements, with questions being raised about his role. The YSRCP has questioned, “In what capacity has Minister Nara Lokesh’s photo been included in government advertisements, which are funded by hundreds of crores of public money?”
Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Visakhapatnam today, various newspapers carried government advertisements, which are now being trolled. The controversy stems from the fact that only Nara Lokesh’s photo appears in the advertisements, while other cabinet members’ photos are absent. There are growing questions about what capacity Nara Lokesh holds, given his photo’s prominent display.
During his visit to Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at 4:15 PM via a special flight. He will participate in a roadshow from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM and then virtually inaugurate several projects from the AU Engineering College grounds. He will depart from the Visakhapatnam airport for Bhubaneswar later. To mark his visit, the Andhra Pradesh government published official advertisements in various newspapers, welcoming the Prime Minister. This advertisement, however, has become the center of controversy.
The advertisement includes photos of Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh. This has sparked trolling, with critics questioning why only Nara Lokesh’s photo was included, rather than all cabinet ministers’ photos. Social media users are questioning whether Nara Lokesh holds the position of “Shadow CM” or whether he holds a full ministerial role. The misuse of public funds for such advertisements is also being criticized.
