The Coalition Government is failing to fulfill its promises to employees, said former APNGOs State President, Nalamaru Chandrasekhar Reddy, in a strong critique of the government’s failure to implement its commitments. He noted that over three lakh employees are still waiting for their dues, benefits, and clear answers on various issues.
Reddy also criticized the finance minister’s announcement of ₹1,000 crore as a Sankranti gift, calling it “ironic” as it merely covers what is already owed to employees. “This is not a new scheme but a simple attempt to fulfill what is due, and even that is filled with discrepancies,” Reddy said.
Reddy pointed out that the government had made nine significant promises to employees, none of which have been honored. Among the key demands are the establishment of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC), overdue interim relief (IR) for employees, and the payment of ₹26,000 crore in dues. Additionally, there have been delays in salary payments, revisions to pension schemes, and unfulfilled promises regarding allowances and medical reimbursements.
Reddy also condemned the government’s handling of the volunteer system, where promised honorariums and the mega DSC recruitment scheme remain unresolved.
He concluded by urging the government to immediately fulfill its promises, warning that further delays could lead to increased unrest among employees and harm the government’s reputation.
