TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu has stated that apologizing for the recent stampede in Tirupati, which claimed six lives and injured several others, will not bring the deceased back. His comments came in response to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s suggestion that TTD officials apologize for the January 8 incident during the distribution of special darshan tickets.
“There is no issue in apologizing, but an apology won’t revive the dead,” Naidu told reporters. He acknowledged lapses in crowd management and confirmed that an inquiry is underway to identify those responsible, assuring action against the guilty.
Pawan Kalyan, during his visit to Tirupati, urged TTD officials to express accountability by apologizing to the victims and their families. The actor-politician reiterated his stance, emphasizing that everyone in the government shares collective responsibility for the tragedy.
