The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by CM Chandrababu Naidu, has approved 34% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in nominated posts. This decision is expected to provide greater representation for BCs in key positions.
The Cabinet also discussed revision of additional retail excise tax on foreign liquor, beer, and FL spirits, along with several other major proposals. Additionally, approval was given for regularization of up to 1,000 square yards of undisputed land in Visakhapatnam’s Gajuwaka revenue village.
Other key approvals include amendments related to land ownership records (pattadar passbooks) and the AP Knowledge Society & Capacity Building 2025 initiative.
