
The Andhra Pradesh government has launched its Free Cylinder Scheme just in time for Diwali celebrations. Bookings began on October 29, and gas booking services are now available for beneficiaries.Under this scheme, eligible individuals will receive three free LPG cylinders per year. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced that beneficiaries need to pay ₹811 to the gas agency initially. This amount will be reimbursed directly to their bank accounts within 48 hours after the cylinder is delivered.
The government has allocated ₹895 crore for subsidy payments to oil companies to implement this scheme. This initiative is part of the ‘Super Six’ guarantees announced by the TDP and Jana Sena ahead of the elections.
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must have a white ration card and an Aadhaar card. If there are any issues with bookings, customers can contact the toll-free number 1967.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to deliver the first refill to a beneficiary in Somepeta, Srikakulam district on November 1. This initiative aims to significantly benefit eligible women by ensuring they receive three gas refills at no cost each year.
