YS Sharmila Reddy, Chief of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), has expressed skepticism regarding the promises made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu concerning job creation and investments in the state. On Thursday, following the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting held on 17th October, Reddy highlighted Naidu’s “Super Six” policies, pointing out that the cabinet meeting failed to deliver any meaningful initiatives for women or the unemployed.
“We expected at least one of the Super Six policies to be implemented in the cabinet meeting, but we were disappointed“- YS Sharmila Reddy. She criticized Naidu for failing to provide substantial announcements, especially regarding free cylinders and transportation for women.
The leader pointed out that while Naidu claimed to attract ₹30 lakh crore in investments and promised 20 lakh jobs, the reality is starkly different. “Unemployment is a significant issue, with 50 lakh people out of work in the state. How will 4 lakh jobs a year address this crisis?” she questioned, asserting that Naidu’s government had previously failed to deliver on similar promises.
Sharmila also emphasized the need for accountability from both Chandhrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Modi, urging them to collaborate on job creation and provide a clear plan for filling the 3 lakh vacant government positions. “The special status promised to Andhra Pradesh has not materialized, and industries are not coming as expected,” Reddy remarked.
Further criticized the current administration for its handling of the liquor industry, drawing parallels between Chief Minister Chandhrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s alleged connections to liquor mafias
As the debate continues, Sharmila remains vocal about the pressing issues of unemployment and investment in Andhra Pradesh, demanding clarity and action from the government.
