CMR Engineering College, located in Kandlakoya under the Gundla Pochampally municipality in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, has come under fire after allegations surfaced about hidden cameras in the ladies’ hostel bathrooms. Female students staged a protest, demanding strict action and holding the hostel warden and staff accountable for this shocking breach of privacy.
Students accused the kitchen staff of secretly placing cameras in the bathrooms, leading to the alleged recording of nearly 300 explicit videos. Outraged by this violation, they demanded immediate action from the college management and severe punishment for those responsible. When student union leaders arrived to support the protesters, they were denied entry by security at the college gate. This escalated tensions, prompting the leaders to join the protesters in a sit-in demonstration outside the gate, calling for justice.
The local police responded promptly, arriving at the scene to calm the protesters. They assured the students of a thorough investigation and promised to bring the culprits to justice. “We will ensure those responsible face severe punishment,” the police assured the crowd.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and security measures in the college hostel. Students have urged the government and college authorities to launch a detailed investigation and take strict steps to prevent such violations in the future.
